“We would recommend them to everyone!”

“DuBois was very helpful with the colors we wanted for our wedding. Once we picked out our colors and style, they got all of our groomsmen fitted perfectly for the day. They were also very efficient on getting everyone on our way with the tux before the big day. If there was any adjustments it was small and made a quick fix to have it fit perfect.”

Our History

For over 65 years, DuBois Formalwear has been helping people look their best for life’s biggest moments.

Our Beginnings

In 1954, Dan and JoAnn DuBois planted their roots in Green Bay after meeting in Denver, Colorado and starting their life together. Newly married and eager to build a business, they compared a Denver phone book with one from Green Bay to see what was missing. The choice came down to a pizza restaurant or a formalwear shop — and with that decision, DuBois Rent-A-Tux was born at 115 S. Washington Street.

The Family Legacy

From that one bold idea, the business grew into a trusted name for weddings, proms, and community celebrations. Over the years, Dan and JoAnn’s children — Dan Jr., Dick, Amy, and Jim — each stepped in to help run the business, leaving their mark and shaping DuBois Formalwear through different seasons of growth.

Broadway & Growth

By 1969, the business had outgrown its first location and moved into its current home on South Broadway — a 100-year-old building that gave Dan and JoAnn room to add dry cleaning and expand the retail storefront. In the years that followed, the company also pioneered a wholesale program, supplying tuxedos to shops across the region. Today, that network has grown to over 100 affiliate stores serving a four-state area.

The Bridal Years

In 1974, DuBois entered the bridal market, opening The Bridal Chateau on Military Avenue in Green Bay. Soon after, a second, larger bridal store followed on Main Street, and later a custom fitting department was added at the Broadway location. Though DuBois stepped away from bridal in the early 2000s to focus on formalwear, these shops remain a proud chapter in the company’s history and a fond memory for many families.

Today

Today, DuBois Formalwear is proudly led by second-generation owner Jim DuBois, alongside a team whose experience spans decades. Jim’s son Adam now serves as Director of Operations, representing the third generation preparing to carry the family tradition into the future.

Evolving with Style

While tuxedos remain the foundation, DuBois has grown to include suits to reflect modern trends and customer needs. Through every evolution, one thing has never changed: a dedication to helping people look their best for life’s most important moments
